Our faith has roots. Deep roots.
On our trips, we want to explore them.

Past and Presence operates tours that give you the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of our forefathers and foremothers in the Christian faith. Through encountering history grounded in the locations we visit and engaging in spiritual practices used by Christians through the ages, we explore the rich and varied tapestry that is our spiritual heritage.

We expand our understanding of our God and our faith when we learn from Christians in other ages, who don’t share our assumptions. As C.S. Lewis wrote, “Every age has its own outlook. It is specially good at seeing certain truths and specially liable to make certain mistakes…People were no cleverer [in the past] than they are now; they made as many mistakes as we. But not the same mistakes.”

We’ll walk the routes that pilgrims walked in past centuries. We’ll spend time with God in ways that would have felt familiar to them, and might be new to us. By doing so we’ll expand our understanding of God, of ourselves, and of the ancient faith in which we participate.

Are you curious about the ways people have thought about and related to God in the past? Do you wonder what our same God might reveal to you today? We’d love to have you join us on our next trip!
